Who We Are
Our Mission
At Wonder Village, we nurture children’s development and recharge parents by fostering meaningful connections through play, education, and community. Whether parents seek a moment to relax or quality bonding time, our inclusive, Montessori-inspired environment supports all children—both neurotypical and neurodivergent—adapting to meet every family’s unique needs.
Our Vision
A world where every child is nurtured, every parent feels supported, and every family has a village to grow with—rooted in the belief that early experiences shape everything.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Kayla Adair—mom of two, former teacher, and a lifelong advocate for children and families.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education, a teaching license in Middle Childhood Language Arts, and a Master’s degree in Intervention Services, which I earned through Youngstown State University’s School Psychology program. I'm also currently becoming a Certified Neurodevelopment-Informed Educator, trained through the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative and Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child.
My background includes nearly a decade in the classroom, along with experience in academic and behavioral intervention—supporting children through complex challenges and collaborating closely with families, schools, and even the courts when needed. That professional foundation, combined with my personal journey as a mom, shapes everything we do here at Wonder Village.
…but really, all of that is just a fancy way of saying:
I care deeply about families, I love Jesus, and I really, really love what I do!
My Story
I created Wonder Village after one of the hardest seasons of my life. What was supposed to be a two-week recovery from a surgery turned into eight long months. I couldn’t lift my babies. I couldn’t carry them to bed. I had to rely on the kindness of friends and family to get through daily life—and I learned what it truly means to need a village.
As I began to heal, I was eager to rejoin the world with my kids. Our town is full of wonderful places for families—but I found myself wishing for something a little more flexible. Somewhere I could drop in without planning ahead or build into our weekly rhythm. A place that felt cozy, safe, and thoughtfully created for both little ones and the parents who care for them.
As both a mom and a longtime educator—I knew I could create something intentional. Through prayer, it became abundantly clear that I was meant to open this space—not just for my own family, but for countless others searching for the same kind of support, connection, and joy.
Wonder Village is the space I wished existed back then: a Montessori-inspired indoor play and learning space for toddlers, preschoolers, and their families—designed to nurture children, recharge parents, and bring community together. Whether you're walking in on a whim or planning ahead, your village is waiting.
Our Core Values
Play is not a break from learning—it’s how children learn best.
We value childhood.
You don’t have to choose between your child thriving and you catching your breath.
We value parents.
Every child and every family deserves a space that meets them where they are.
We value inclusion.
It really does take a village—and we’re honored to be part of yours.
We value community.
From our toys to our classes to the calming colors on the walls, everything here is thoughtfully chosen with your child’s development in mind.
We value intentionality.
Why Wonder Village Is Different
Wonder Village was designed with deep care—every detail, every room, every rhythm. It’s more than just an indoor play space. It’s where early childhood development meets everyday family life. Where kids are free to explore, parents feel supported, and community is built—one playful moment at a time.
Our approach is rooted in Montessori principles, trauma-informed care, and the latest research in neurodevelopment. Certification in neurodevelopment-informed education is currently underway to ensure every element reflects the science behind how children grow and thrive.
Even the paint colors were selected in consultation with child development specialists and guided by color psychology—to create a sensory-friendly environment that helps children feel safe and regulated, especially our youngest and most sensitive visitors.
From the toys we select to the classes we offer, every piece of Wonder Village is intentionally crafted to support toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers—including those who are neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or simply in need of extra care.
Because at the end of the day, this village was made for you.
“Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world.”
— Maria Montessori
